You are watching: Do pudding cups need to be refrigerated

Okay, don"t call me a moron just yet.Picked up part refrigerated jello pudding cups at the sector yesterday. Treating them like constant pudding cups once we acquired home, we just stuck a pair in the fridge and stowed the rest in the pantry. Then it arisen to me, this morning: wait--did those things need to be retained in the fridge? My question is, room these things an alleged to be refrigerated because they"ll otherwise spoil? (A rapid glance at the ingredients and also nothing jumps out at me as perishable. "Modified milk ingredients" is listed, but the cups space sealed.) Or, space they claimed to be kept cold due to the fact that they"ll separate at room temperature, or something? supporting this guess is the reality that Kraft"s website lists the non-refrigerated variety as "shelf stable".So, what carry out you think? Throw the end the ones us stashed in the pantry? Eat at your own risk? Everything"s cool? Thanks!

They should be refrigerated, they have actually a much shorter shelf life 보다 the puddings friend buy in the grocery store aisle. I"m not specifically sure why however probably because they have actually fewer preventive in them. You can buy milk in tetra packs in the grocery aisle that keeps longer simply because of the means they to be packaged and treated that don"t require refrigeration. But you wouldn"t placed milk indigenous the dairy product Dept. In the pantry in other words.Moron.just kidding

Personally, I would throw castle out. Just a couple of bucks & I"m picky around that stuff. But on that note, I"d say there is a good chance they room okay.....maybe put it in the fridge and also then open it and also smell it prior to you eat. Great rule of thumb, if girlfriend buy it in the refrigerated section at the store, it"s most likely thats exactly how they will have to be stored at residence (if not consumed immediately).
