I was referring to the origins of the expression... Of food it goes further than a card video game as my effort at translation makes no cite of cards. Incidentally have others heard this expression with VEST and not CHEST?
never, chest always... Yet vest sounds pretty good, too, and also evokes gambling dens, sweat and poker the French tantamount is "il ne montre pas child jeu".

I assumed it maybe a BE/AE thing however I think the origianal poster must have heard vest and not chest. I prefer your expression together retains the game playing allusion.
I think the quotation to be from Pirates of the Caribbean, a Disney film and therefore, i assume, using American idiom. To mine AE ears, the expression is always "close come the vest" -- as it remained in this quotation -- never ever "chest". From the coming before posts, ns think this have to be a BE/AE thing.
Maybe "cacher boy jeu" is a bit different? I"d use it in a context where you median to delude someone.

thanks a lot for her answers !Cette expression est bien tirée du movie "pirates des caraïbes". Vu le contexte, ~ above peut comprendre d"après ce que vous dites : "il est très discret sur ça", "il n"en parle pas".
