You are watching: Someone who stands up for others

I"m searching for a word that explains a character in an essay I"m composing. I require a word for someone that doesn"t earlier dvery own, somepoint prefer "brave" yet not fairly, even more prefer "courageous". This perkid is protective, and stands up for others no matter what. In one scene, a team of human being are attacking a student, and this character stands up to them and gets them to earlier off. Even when everyone is versus them they stands up for what is right, no matter the odds.

Edit:

The character is a teenager, if that helps at all.

Edit

A teenager through values, a person that defends the underdog, a person who"s not afrassist or ashamed to stand up for what"s ideal.

It sounds to me favor they"re stalwart - combining both the interpretations of "valiant" and also "firm, steadrapid and also uncompromising" (reference). Often used in the phrases stalwart friend and stalwart supporter.

Authentic: Wise: Stoic: Empathic and not Psychopathic or Antisocial...

Please enable me to describe in a fairly convoluted means - tis hard to perform it in any kind of various other manner.

The teenager"s behaviour speaks quantities about his or her worth mechanism and a sense of stoicism embedded in the practice of engaging events in an authentic manner. The idea of living authentically is described more fully on sites such as Psych Central and others I have the right to provide if interested>. Stoicism includes a thoughtful commitment to the usage of logic, honest behaviours and physics is thrvery own in tright here for good meacertain - aacquire others explain it even more eloquently than I can here, see Web Encyclopaedia of Philosophy.

Somewhat more superficially, specially for youngsters its around making the alternative to remajor true to their inner being by resting the push to "play the game of keeping up through social mores and also what other"s think". The person described above is an individual that has actually taken into consideration well from an objective yet a lot of most likely profoundly empathic stance; the intricacies and also challenges that one encounters throughout the course of a life time.

This, from my reading of the question, does not represent a psychopathic or antisocial individual whose ability to interact in such a manner via others is conquered by less than altruistic motive. My paper Monster or Clown: Bad or Crazy, speaks to this last comment and what is written in the next paragraph

A casual observer of an event such as the scene wbelow "this character stands up to them and also gets them to ago off" can, not "get" the difference in between the behaviours of a psychopathic individual and the behaviours of the individual you have defined - even more especially the driving inspiration to connect in the occasion. Such observations have the right to be misinterpreted often leading to incorrect and incorrect judgements.

Neither the psychoroute or the authentic individual will certainly be especially came to by such outside points as being judged or observed and so on However, the one that lives in a field of self awareness and also quiet reflection and acute observation is more most likely to consider the opinions of the other who is threatening... It is in this stance of empathic engagement through the attacker and the victim that facilitates a greater potential of having someone who has actually intimidated "earlier off".

One does not get to this state of mind/body/heart connection in the ordinariness of prospering up.There is no word really that incorporates the layers of character around which you soptimal, particularly once the individual is so young.

Some further comments to clarify my usage of the words Stoic, Empathic & Wise:An individual that engperiods in the human being from a profound feeling of centredness will behave as such throughout environments and also cases. Tbelow is nopoint that will persuade him/her from their well thought about and objective opinion/stance

I could include right here that such people deserve to obtain their wisdom from a deep and also often painfully empathetic nature, by which the capacity to understand also the suffering of other beings- often at a visceral level have the right to be a driving factor in their stance.

However before, - and also aacquire the stoic and authentic terms come to the fore. No matter what is thrown at such an individual by those who bully, intimiday and otherwise impose their often ill conceived worths on others from a are afraid based or emotive stance; tright here will certainly be no reaction! Tbelow will certainly yet be a strong, logical and also even if in a spur of the moment encounter; an unwaveringly calm and also accumulated response that cannot be argued via by any type of "rational and also caring individual", a lot less an angry and irrational mob.

I would consider such an individual as authentic, possibly through wisdom past his/her years, which from my endure augers well for a meaningful life also if events are not constantly positive. Such individuals interact in the myriad experiences, good, negative or invarious that they enrespond to via the same centredness and inner function that can not assist however be noticed by those approximately them.
